About Louisa

My first exposure to Pilates was when I attended a trial class at university. It was an-hour group Mat class; an experience, which I found to be challenging and intriguing.

Soon after, whilst preparing for my vocational RAD Intermediate ballet exam, I realised I needed body conditioning, strengthening and had to fix muscular imbalances and alignment. I found Fletcher Pilates to be inspirational; that though Pilates is challenging, it can be fun and enjoyable too! And so, I’m certified in Pilates through the renowned Ron Fletcher Program of Study.

Not only have I gained greater body awareness and alignment, my core strength has improved tremendously while I maintained a supple body! It is my first hand experience of the physical, mental and emotional benefits that inspired me to want to help others to strengthen the mind-body connection, to reach their movement potential, and to improve their emotional well-being!
I was first certified to teach the Matwork in 2005; and I juggled between a full-time corporate job with teaching classes in the evenings and weekends for slightly over a year. It was in 2010, when I decided that this was something I wanted to give my full commitment to!

As a lover of all movements, I am driven to further my knowledge and understanding in Pilates education, and keeping up with personal hobbies like ballet and swimming. At the same time, I like to look for new experiences that challenges my personal growth. Amongst the activities that I have also attempted include different forms of dance, Yoga, and sports.
